Focus 1: Voter choices
This area covers a range of projects focusing on the choices made by voters at the municipal level. In addition, this area of focus will pursue the following three objectives:
a) Identify the links between the political information available and the voter: sources, nature of the information that is sought and accessible.
b) Understand how the media treats information, such as the type of information disseminated according to municipality, candidate and source.
c) Examine the relationship between the information disseminated, the information consulted and the choice at the ballot box.
History of voting rights and eligibility
in Quebec
This project aims to put into perspective the evolution of municipal democracy in Quebec, with a view to better understanding how it manifests today, in this day and age. The project is carried out in collaboration with Harold Bérubé (Université de Sherbrooke).
Young people and
municipal policy
This project aims to capture how municipal politics are perceived by the youngest members of the electorate. It is carried out in collaboration with Salomé Vallette.
